DJ Tomy, on his real name Cristi Toma, was born in Rm. Valcea, on 13^th May 1976. Since his childhood, he has been very keen on music and had many opportunities to be a DJ at the parties organised while he was a pupil in the Secondary School and, later, in the High School. After graduating from High School in ’95, with the help of his best friend DJ John, he managed to get a job at one of the most fashionable local radio station at that moment. Being in charge with “the switches” of the audio console – as the connoisseurs like to say -, and creating a high quality live music programme, he made a lot of people to listen to his programme every day, and he became famous together with his fellows of the radio station: John Chircus, Colin Sabin, Toto Joica, Giuly Popa. The experience he got with his radio programme helped him to move to the next stage in his career – the work in the radio production department where he worked as a sound editor ( making up jingles, sound effects, soundtracks for credits, film soundtracks, promo soundtracks, advertisements) and as a production mixer.

He has got a dynamic and energetic personality and he likes being creative by mixing sounds. He realised that he had enough spare time and decided to have a second job. Having music as a hobby, he began working as a DJ in many (disco) clubs in the county. At the beginning he did this as seasonal work, but after some time, being a Dj became his main activity.

His music programme made him well-known during the 5 years he worked as a DJ/MC at Club Imperial in Govora village. He mixed different sorts of music especially dance, Latino, black, house and the entertaining atmosphere he created, made Club Imperial to be the best club in Valcea county.

He has been called the party maker and has been known as DJ Tomiţă (Tomy). He successfully promoted the house music trend in Rm. Valcea.

After all these years when he worked as a DJ in many (disco) clubs of Rm. Valcea city and as a DJ at the local radio station, he thought of setting up in business. He decided to supply music (having music clearance), and music technical equipment suitable for numerous social events (wedding parties, christening parties, parties organised by firms, companies, corporations, etc). Together with his brother Laurenţiu, – who is a DJ too – , he mixed work and pleasure and started his business called “Events by Tomy”. He and his brother have been together in this business and they have had a great success. DJ Tomy has dedicated himself to entertain parties (in the county and in the whole country) with his music mixes and to be a production mixer, gaining fame due to his remarkable work and great experience.

Whenever he has spare time he is a sound editor for the local radio station Valcea 1 and a DJ at numerous (disco) clubs, cafés, coffee bars, coffee houses in the city.

DJ Tomy and “Events by Tomy” have a great experience and have cooperated with many institutions and companies in Valcea county.
